Lakes of Mars shows that on Mars has been (or is!?) life

Geological mapping project, using data provided by NASA probe to explore Mars shows that in the past, large lakes existed on Mars, announced Phenomenica.com site.
A series of sedimentary deposits indicate the presence of large water storage structures located in Hellas Planitia, Mars in the southern hemispheric, announces Dr. Leslie Bleamster, researcher at the Institute for Planetary Sciences of the USA. These deposits resulted from erosion and silt transport in higher areas, which were made in water storage structures.
Hellas basin has a diameter of 2,000 km and a height of 8 km, the largest on the Martian surface. According to Leslie Bleamster, these lakes could have existed on Mars in the 4.5 to 3.5 billion years ago.
